Cheryl Pfruender PT, DPT, MTC, OCS

Cheryl Pfruender PT, DPT, MTC, OCS
Dr. Pfruender is the Clinic Manager at the Winston-Salem location.
Cheryl Pfruender is a native of Kannapolis, NC. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, before earning her Manual Therapy Certificate in from St. Augustine University in Florida.
In 2013, Cheryl became Board Certified in Orthopaedics and is also a certified ASTYM and Dry Needling provider. Cheryl specializes in the treatment of neck and low back injuries, as well as running injuries.
As an avid runner, Cheryl trains for distances up to the marathon level. She also enjoys recreational biking and is a huge dog lover, caring for 3 of her own. Her favorite TV shows are The Voice and Grey’s Anatomy. Thank goodness for the invention of the DVR, as this allows her to catch all those re-runs she misses during the day while at work!

Justin Pfruender PT, DPT, MS, OCS

Justin Pfruender PT, DPT, MS, OCS
Justin Pfruender earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from East Carolina University. He also has a Master of Science in Health and Exercise Science from Wake Forest University. Prior to that,
Justin obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education – Exercise Science from Calvin College.
Justin specializes in orthopedics and sports medicine and is most interested in treating running, hip, and foot injuries.
In his free time, Justin enjoys running, hiking, and kayaking.

Emily Taylor PT, DPT

Emily Taylor PT, DPT
Emily earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. Prior to earning her doctorate, she received her Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Emily has completed continuing education courses in Dry Needling, Spinal Mobilization, Running Mechanics and Triathlon Rehabilitation. She is currently pursuing her certification in Manual Therapy through Evidence In Motion and takes special interest in manual therapy, dry needling, running and walking gait mechanics.
Emily lives in Winston-Salem with her husband, Alex, and their two dogs, Mia and Zoe. As a former high school and collegiate athlete she loves staying active by running, training for triathlons, hiking, and practicing yoga. She also enjoys cooking and writing in her spare time.

Clinic ManagerDrew is the Clinic Manager at the Kernersville location.
Drew Schlabach earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Walsh University in Canton, Ohio. Prior to earning his Doctorate, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from Abilene Christian University.
Drew has completed Evidence In Motion’s Orthopaedic Residency Program and is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Specialist (OCS), a designation obtained by less than 6% of all physical therapists. Drew is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling to treat myofascial pain and Functional Movement Screens which identify movement dysfunction that places someone at a higher risk of injury. He is a member of the Orthopaedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association and the American Academy of Manual Physical Therapists. Drew has a special interest in manual therapy and movement disorders relating to the spine and extremities. He has also completed the Bellin College Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT) Fellowship Program.
When not in the clinic, Drew enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. He is an avid fantasy baseball and football fan, and can often be found researching players and making changes to his lineup on the weekends. He also enjoys cooking, grilling, playing baseball, and biking.

Tara Mainali PT, DPT

Tara Mainali PT, DPT
Physical TherapistTara completed her undergraduate coursework at Virginia Tech where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise. She then went on to High Point University where she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree.
Tara has an interest in orthopaedic conditions and is currently enrolled in Evidence In Motion’s Orthopaedic Residency Program. She has also completed coursework in pain neuroscience education. Tara enjoys working with a wide variety of patients and conditions.
Tara is from northern Virginia, but currently lives in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors in the sunshine, spending time with her family and friends, listening to music and attending concerts, traveling, and staying active by hiking, walking, indoor/outdoor cycling, running, and weight training.

Physical TherapistDr. Thomas Criss earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Methodist University. Prior to that he earned his Bachelor of Integrated Health Science from Western Carolina University. After completing his doctorate, Thomas completed his Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) training in order to appropriately treat golfers.
Thomas has a love for helping his patients get back to their prior level of function and overall improving their quality of life. His passion for golf has led him to love treating and building relationships with golfers, as well as any general population in need of physical therapy.
In his free time, Thomas enjoys playing golf, volleyball and spending time outside with friends. He also enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and his family.
