Pierce Adams CSCS, TPI, PN1
Pierce graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a degree in Exercise Sports Science and has been working in preventative and rehabilitative health for over 11 years. Throughout the past 11 years, he has been providing private strength and conditioning to clients at BreakThrough Physical Therapy and developing fitness plans to suit the individual needs of his patients. Pierce is also the performance coach for the O’Neal school located in Pinehurst, North Carolina. At O’Neal, Pierce implements performance programs to all the athletes in the school to maximize their sport performance and to keep athlete’s injury free!
Pierce specializes in strength and conditioning for middle school, high school, and adult athletes, geared towards increasing overall “life” performance. Pierce is also certified through the Titleist Performance Institute and has a passion for working with golfers of all ages on their golf performance and staying healthy playing the game they love. He is also providing nutritional guidance through Precision Nutrition to men and woman of all ages, to help facilitate weight loss and improve overall wellness.
With a strong desire and passion to help others excel in their sport and fitness goals, coupled with his knowledge and extensive experience, Pierce is determined to help unlock your full potential!
Chelsea Anderton OTR/L
Chelsea Anderton OTR/L
Chelsea Anderton earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to that, Chelsea obtained her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Chelsea is most interested in treating sensory modulation.
In her free time, Chelsea enjoys hiking, visiting museums, and trying new restaurants.

Kenny Biggs PT, DPT, OCS, CMP
Kenny graduated from The Medical University of South Carolina in 2008, where he earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). Prior to MUSC, he graduated from UNC Wilmington in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education. Kenny is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Specialist, which approximately 6% of physical therapists in the United States hold.
Continuing in his education, Kenny has obtained certifications in ASTYM, Blood Flow Restriction Training, and as a Mulligan Practitioner, and has completed numerous manual therapy courses through Evidence In Motion, Maitland, the International Spine & Pain Institute, and utilizes Trigger Point Dry Needling. These techniques are proven to help with a variety of orthopaedic injuries and with the management of acute and chronic pain. Kenny specializes in sports medicine and athletic injuries, sports performance, postoperative therapy needs, spine and hip conditions, and neurological injuries and disorders. His passion is getting to know his patients and helping them exceed their goals, be it sports-related or everyday functioning.
Kenny is a native of Greenville, North Carolina. He is a former collegiate baseball player. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, as well as being at the beach, running, and playing golf. He enjoys watching college sports and is an avid Georgia Bulldogs and Tar Heels fan.

Steven Blair earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Prior to that, Steven obtained his Master of Arts in Kinesiology from the University of Northern Iowa and a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Steven is most interested in treating sports injuries, chronic pain, and neurological conditions.
In his free time, Steven enjoys staying active, exercising, and hiking.

Janie Bounds PTA
Janie Bounds PTA
Janie Bounds earned her Associate in Applied Science – Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) from Fayetteville Technical Community College. Prior to that, Janie obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from University of North Carolina – Pembroke.
Janie is most interested in treating hip and knee replacements.
In her free time, Janie enjoys hiking with her husband, visiting waterfalls with her mom, and kayaking.

Sean Bouthilette PT, DPT
Sean Bouthilette earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Methodist University. Prior to that, Sean obtained his Exercise Science/Sports Medicine from Campbellsville University.
Sean is most interested in treating sports injuries but enjoys treating all musculoskeletal injuries. He has enjoyed working with the spine with the use of manual treatment with joint mobilization. He also has soft spot for treating shoulder injuries, after having multiple shoulder surgeries himself, being a pitcher in college.
In his free time, Sean enjoys baseball, hiking, and spending time with his family. He is also a huge Boston sports fan.

Katie Bradley earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Campbell University. Prior to that, Katie obtained her Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science also from Campbell University. While in PT school, Katie served as the graduate assistant for the Advanced Interdisciplinary Movement System (AIMS) lab and participated in data collection and manuscript writing for a study involving functional exercise and blood flow restriction.
In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with her family, baking from scratch, and volunteering in the children’s ministry at her church. Her favorite form of exercise is yoga or hiking. Katie is enjoying adjusting to mountain life and attending App State athletic events. You’ll also find her frequently visiting her alma mater in Buies Creek, NC to serve on the Alumni Board of Directors.
Katie enjoys serving her patients in a way that empowers them to care for themselves outside of the clinic. Watching patients achieve their goals and return to prior activities is rewarding and drives her passion for coming to work every day.

Physical TherapistDr. Emily Brutski earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Nazareth College of Rochester. Prior to that, she earned her Bachelor of Health Science from Nazareth College.
Emily is a travel physical therapist and likes being able to meet, work with, help, and build relationships with people all over the United States. She wants to help as many people as she can to achieve their goals!
In her free time, Emily enjoys exploring new areas with her fiancé, hiking, gymnastics and tumbling, and reading.

Jordan is the Clinic Manager at the Wake Forest location.
Jordan earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT) from Medical University of South Carolina. Prior to this, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences at North Carolina State University.
Jordan is a board certified Orthopaedic Physical Therapist and has an Orthopaedic Manual Therapy certification. He is also a dry needling practitioner.
Jordan has continued his education with courses in assessment and treatment techniques for impairments involving the spine, as well as Dry Needling through Evidence In Motion (EIM). Having suffered from several injuries himself, Jordan understands rehab from both the patient and therapist’s point of view. He enjoys working with patients from all walks of life, from athletes to those who want to live their life without pain.
He enjoys working with patients from all walks of life, from athletes to those who want to return to their daily life without limitations. A native of Greenville, NC, Jordan enjoys spending time with his wife, Elise, and their three children, Natalie, Malachi and David, and yellow lab. He also enjoys any outdoor activity as well as cheering on the Wolfpack.

Blake grew up in a small town in western GA, but recently moved to Fayetteville, NC. He will be furthering his education by pursuing his Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification through Evidence in Motion’s Orthopaedic Residency Program. He enjoys working with athletes and plans to become a Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) after practicing for two years. He is passionate about furthering physical therapy as a primary care practice and getting patients to choose physical therapy first for musculoskeletal pain.

Physical TherapistAbighail Castro earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Winston-Salem State University. Prior to that, Abighail obtained her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Angeles University Foundation.
Abighail has abundant experience with orthopedic conditions with a preference for knee and hip issues. Abighail is currently training for pelvic floor rehabilitation through EIM.
In her free time, Abighail enjoys spending time with her family – husband and three kids and hanging out with friends. Abighail is currently the vocalist of her husband’s band, The North Band. She also jams with another local band in Winston Salem which is the Lead Band.

Chris Connelly PT, DPT
Chris holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Winston Salem State University. He is currently pursuing a manual therapy certification and an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) certification. Before becoming a physical therapist, he worked as an engineer, but decided that he wanted to work with people instead of machines.
Chris is certified in dry needling. He loves getting creative with balance activities for his gait and balance patients.
Chris spends his weekends chasing his two young sons around with his wife. He enjoys hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, canoeing, grilling, and anything that gets him outdoors.
Alex Corbett PT, DPT
Alex Corbett PT, DPT
Dr. Alex Corbett earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to earning his doctorate, he attended North Carolina State University for his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing. He later joined The United States Air Force as an active-duty service member.
Dr. Corbett has prior experience working in the strength and conditioning field. After years of coaching individuals of all ages, he understands what it takes to progress an individual from injury rehabilitation to performing at their best. Dr. Corbett has experience working with athletes, post-surgery patients, weekend fitness warriors, and the average person who is just trying to move pain-free and become stronger. He takes a special interest in getting active individuals back to the gym, their sport, or their hobby. Additionally, he has completed continuing education courses on Functional Dry Needling.
In his free time, Alex enjoys lifting weights in his garage gym, making homemade pizza, and hiking with his wife and two dogs.

Physical TherapistDr. Joyce Costa earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Campbell University. Prior to that, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Vanderbilt University.
Joyce enjoys working with patients with a variety of orthopedic conditions. She is passionate about empowering patients through movement to help them feel better and stronger. She also has a background in yoga and weightlifting, which she incorporates into her practice regularly. In her free time she enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, and exploring new restaurants and recipes as a self-proclaimed “foodie.”

Kendra earned her a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Winston-Salem State University and is a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer.
Her passion for exercise and fitness began at a young age, as she was an athlete of many sports. Day in and day out, she had to challenge and condition herself to perform at a competitive level, whether it was running extra laps for endurance in track, performing extra squats for power in volleyball, or working on her agility for speed and quickness in basketball. It was required for her to always be at her best. At that point, she knew that she was destined to work in the health and wellness field to help others do the same.
Kendra specializes in strength and conditioning for people of all ages. Through her provides customized exercise programs tailored to the needs of each individual client. She is of the mindset that, “you are your greatest investment.” Her goal as a trainer is to empower her clients to fully embrace the habit of a daily workout to attain the everlasting benefits of a healthy lifestyle, while keeping each session fun, challenging, educational, and most importantly, safe and effective!
